Bought it off of ebay, so I can have more room for the growing kids.

I was just going to swap the bodies, but decided to build instead.
As soon as I got it home, ripped the engine/tranny out and had them rebuilt.
Spent 2 days cutting all of the IFS shit out thengrinding it down smooth.
Went and bought 2 rockwells (fronts) from a guy down the road and ripped them apart to check/swap seals and bearings, install detroits (although I decided to spool the rear), etc. I was going to run pinion brakes f/r, but decided to get wheel brakes for the front (after all, I am already over budget and behind on schedule) and only want to deal with the rockwells ONCE!!
I will be running the stock 231 and have redrilled the rear chunk, and swapped the knuckles on the front for driver side drop. 42" Iroks on hummer beadlocks. 4 link in the rear, 3 link with panhard in the front. Called up Station and ordered a full hydro set up with new pump. I still need to with Surplus center for my rear ram and valve.

Anyway, I got it to start and run this weekend, and finished buttoning up the engine. This week I am going to try and get the coils and links mounted.

Sounds awesome, sounds like you're making some hard core progress.

Can you fix you links, cause all I see are Red "X"s

EDIT: I didn't realize you have a red star, you shouldn't have any problems posting pics.

It is Microsoft being all monopoly like. They want you to download crap and get a password and such just to view the images. Yield2Me email me the pictures I'll put them on my website so we can all see them.

Vintage Purple conversion package graphix rock balls! Lookin good.

Are you trying to run stock wheelbase? On 42's with the center chunk where you have it, how much clearance will you have at the oilpan? and for the tires as the firewall/rockercorner?

Lest we not forget the Lund tupperware attached above the windshield. The hall mark of idiots, nationwide.

What about clearance in the rear wheelwells? Thats what I'm curious about.

LOL....I get a lot of remarks from my buddies about the "retro" graffix and the moon visor!!!
Both of witch will be gone.

Anway...No, it will be alittle longer than stock WB. I am going to exo it with a tube front end. The rear quarters will be cut as much as I can for clearence. I am using stock F-150 coils in the rear, and 2" progressive rate TJ coils in the front. The oil pan will not be an issue once the springs are on. I had the axles on small jackstands at first, but figured with the truck sitting where it is right now, the axles will be about where they are on the floor. I need to be carefull though, because my garage door is not to high...
BTW-It was a 4x4, so it has the rear sump oil pan.

I have based alot of the suspension height from Bansheeman1's baby Blazer...

I am trying to keep it as low as possible.

what tires do you plan to run?

Why not put the 150 springs in the front where there is mre weight
thay are used to carring a v8

mine are 150 all the way around and it works great

what kind of suspension do you plan to build?

what wheelbase are you shooting for?

I wish i would have moved the rear back 2-3 more inches to clear the doors better when i steer and flex

Cool keep the picks comming

-42" Iroks on hummer beadlocks with 7" of backspacing
-hubs flipped out

-I do have a set of f150 springs, but have been considering the 2" progressive rate coils. May end up running the fi50's on the front to
-Triangulated 4 link rear, 3 link w/panhard bar in the front
-I would like to move my rear a few inches back, but the damn gas tank may be in the way. But I hear ya on the rer doors...not alot of material to cut compared to the rear of the the wheel well.

Right now I am off to the steel place to bet some material for x-members and links....

I am a vote for the f-150's up front depending on what you are going to do. I had xj coils in the front of mine with the v-8 and it flexed like mad. It was also scary as hell with the insane body roll in the trails. I like a little more speed sometimes and without a sway bar it was a little out of control. I put the f-150 coils up front and love them. The still flex quite well, ask banshee or anyone else that has wheeled with me. They are stiff enough that I have control and confidence at speed and soft enough that I can flex it out quite well.

Sounds like a I have switched my plan again!!!

I have aerostar coils on the other truck, and I agree, that body roll does suck. If that is what I have to look forward to, them I will just keep the f-one-tizzy springs on the front!
