I have a edelbrock q-jet p/n 1904 that I put on the scout, runs decent in town, but it still stalls out at angles . My pop is running the same carb on his 350 SBC and runs like fawkin FI. Any ideas? Anyone running this carb on a 345? Are there offroad needles and seats available for the qjet? Any jetting suggestions?

Stalls out as in, runs out of gas, or floods??
Of it floods it sounds like the float could be a little high.
If it runs out of gas, the float could be too low.
Or if it runs out of gas it could have too small of jets on it (not likely though)
Have you rebuilt this carb?? if not you should, it's simple. I did my first Q-jet rebuild when I was 16 and with no help and it worked like a champ afterwards (In other words; you should have no problem doing one)
Your dad could be running a Q-jet with a better style float than you also. If you rebuild it check out the float, the best for off-roading have sort of an upside down triangle (ISH) look to them.

This is the brand new Edelbrock RPM Q-Jet, right?
PN 1904?
IIRC, only the 1910 850 cfm has the off-road needle and seat assembly.
Why don't you call Edelbrock? They should be able to help ya out.
And please, let us know how it turns out. I'm looking at buying a 1904 for my 345 soon.

I've got mine right here next to me just begging to be installed, but I have no time right now. If/ when you figure it out, then let us know what you did. Does your pop's carb have problems with angles? Side to side or up and down? These carbs are supposed to be good at angles, so I would check the float level first. If that does'nt fly, put in the offroad needle and seat. One thing at a time......
