I have acsess to and 84/85 (not sure which) Toyota 4x4 pick up for parts. A friend tells me to get any part I want before he sends it to the junk yard. Would the power steering and disk brake system convert to my 72FJ??
Had planned on doing these conversions later or should I take advantage of these parts?
Thanks

PS no,
Disk brake system absolutely!!!

Get the entire front axle. Get from the knuckles out.

There is also a ton of info on this board about the mini disk brake swap. Chew a bit on the search function and goto Woody's site here (http://www.ih8mud.com)

More info than you could ever want :D

I would grab the axle for sure. Its staight forward swap. Get the P/S box too, might be good to trade for other parts sometime. The minitruck P/S conversion leaves the stock sloppy steering components(center arm assm, and 2 extra tierod ends) in the system, so its nice but does not cure wandering etc, as many people are looking for in the conversion.

If you want to do steering there are many styles out there:
*Saginaw-most popular
*FJ60 style less popular but just as good. Outside the frame, forward facing pitman arm
*Scout-similar to FJ60
*Minitruck-easy, just adds P/S to stock steering setup

Get the master and booster also. The vacuum check valve is in the line not on the booster like Cruisers.
