You guys will get a kick out of this. The first pictures are of my blazer project. 6" total lift, 32" MT's, and Demello sliders. $1500 in upgrades. After a few trips wheeling with it and breaking several parts (a list too long to post) I got smart and bought a solida axle toyota. Although I was very proud of my first ever project s10 creation, It wheeled like crap and broke down every time I tried to wheel it. People just staired at me like I was a jack ass when I pulled up in that thing. Not only was it a pain in the ass for me, but the other guys in my group as well. we could only wheel for as long as the blazer held up. then we had to tow it out and piss around. Most (all) of the guys in my group are either Taco wheelers or cruiser wheelers. You can only imagine the crap I got from them. Anyway, Here are a few pictures of my blazer (now my tow vehicle) and a few picture of my new 74' fj40. (my buddy with the fancy red star is going to post my pictures for me). I will never wheel anything but a toyota again! this will be my second season with my landcruiser. My blazer sits in the driveway now watching me drive off in my cruiser. anyway, look forwad to talking with you guys. This is my first post at pirate but definately not the last.....

The Blazer seems fine for a Blazer. I'm surprised you broke a lot of stuff with only 32s. Were diffs fully locked up, selectable or otherwise?

Looks like your 40 will make a great rig once your done modifying it your way.:)

No open diffs. Just not built for off roading. Broke an idler arm, replaced pitman arm twice, cv axle, hub, bent both tie rods, upper shock mount bolt, upper and lower ball joints, and a bent driver side upper control arm. All in 1 year. Can you say fawk IFS! Sinse I've had my cruiser, I've broken the mirror. and it's 31 years old! tee hee. anyway, the blazer makes a great tow vehicle and can make a whicked run through McDonald's drivethrough! Ya. Right level with the order window. Other than that, sinse the 4x4 doesn't work currently, like always, it's pretty much worthless. I use it to tow my cruiser to MIOBI.org and to drive to work. It has Demello sliders I am selling to a buddy with an fj60.
