I came home from an intervies with a death grip on th4e wheel. it has been squirly for a week, since pumping the tires up to 40psi(were 25, nice ride became hard) so no driven much, I noticed teh right wheel appeared to be tilted IN at top!
on crawling under on teh way back out to another intervies, I poked my head under to see all bolts loose on right swivel to axle-case!
the bottom was ~1/2" open! :(
no wonder it was riding like shit! I don't know how it would suddenly do this, but I think it's time for some prev. maintenance this week. I jus tightened them all up and will test drive to confirm all is fine....and still hope to be able to get to that interview? :shaking:

I had never heard of this happening, but apparently you're not alone.

yeah! I was guessing that was the issue...and was just about to jack it up when I saw the culprit

I drove it around te block anmd the wheel is now centered correctly too...drives fine, but now pulls to right on breaking if hands off wheel.
I saw i had worn the right inner side of tire so was wondering if this ws the culprit,

BUT I just jacked up front left, and it appears to have major play there...not sure, but it feels like the bearings are loose. I have a brand new set somewhere, but..not sure where! :(

I guess I'll be taking that all apart today to see, but with o jack-stands here, it'll be fun! damn apartment...grumble grumbld...i need a shop/garage again

ONLY IN FRESNO! :mad3: :mad3:

I pumped up tehy tires on the bike and peddled over to nearest parts store for a 2 1/16 hub nut socket.
they were useless (autozone, htey hnever have what I need ofr anything, but was in riding distance..) biggest ws 36mm :shaking:

so I turn around to my mtn bike that i had brought inside for safety, and noticed that in the few minutes inside while at the counter, some asshole had stolen my nice new $25 bike gloves! grrrr! :mad3:

anyway I rode back here and will have to use the old aircraft mechanic tool for hub nuts a big pair of channel locks. at least I will be able to drive tonight now...

and of course the channel-locks are too small grr! ok onto plan B

so after checking everywhere, no-one in Fresno area has the corect sized hub nus tool!!!
not even NAPA they had a 2 3/16 or 36mm but nothing in between, and i need a 2 1/16 or 52mm(which is said to be 2" ?? )

guess I'll have to make do with the hammer/screwdriver I used for now until I either order from rover parts house or find the one in storage...
