: 230 done, now a temp light issue?

not overheating, all sensors look to be attached since the 230 swap, light came on about 10 minutes into the first test drive in low gear, rpms were up so it made sense then, but has not gone off since. Disconnected battery in case I tripped something.
I checked the fuses, so far okay. Temp sensor wiring under the hood is intact, but it did seem to get warm really quickly today on the short test drive. I guess I am going after the thermostat next? Anyone have a quick guess as to what I might have missed, never came on before, even in some hot weather driving.

BTW, I searched, so I have a few leads. Just looking for any quick advice, I thought maybe the temp sensor from the B/W but that has been cut and wired together... maybe ecu is looking for a reading, not a closed loop?

I remember when I had my LT-230 in my LWB that there weren't any temp. sensors tripping. You must have a bad sensor, or you've hooked something up wrong? I remember that there were at least 2 chances to hook the wrong wires up to the wrong sensor.

Sorry I don't have any better advice than that. :(

EDIT: Are you talking about the engine temp sensor? That is weird. I just re-read your post and it seems you are talking about the engine getting hot, and *NOT* the LT-230 getting hot. Interesting. I'd check the thermostat and/or check your radiator for leaks. If you are losing pressure you will cause the engine to overheat. Don't forget while checking the radiator to remove the fan shroud...some leaks will just dribble down the side of the tank and will be impossible to see if the shroud is still in place. Hope this helps.

all the remaining sensors are okay, no leaks and thermostat checks out. I think I just need to try wiring the old t-case temp sensor in and see if that fixes things. Truck runs like it always did otherwise. Anyone got a BW temp sensor taking up valuable garage space? I tossed mine like an idiot, before everything was finished. :mad3:

If its bothering you, pull out the bulb in the dash. It will have the same effect!

Thought of that, not the worst idea.
Hate to give up the warning on the engine though, even tho these never run hot
It will not pass inspection here with it on, and for now that will get the damn red light out of my face.

FWIW, I don't have anything connected to the Temp Sensor probe on my LT-230.

What did you do with the corresponding wires for the temp sensor? Just wire them together? I also just noticed tonight that the Hellas no longer come on, they are wired through the factory switch. Maybe they are connected. Looks like I need to go through the RAVE disc again.
