In the March Fourwheeler there is a pic of his YJ in the readers rides, and I simply must have more info....

It actually reminds me a lot of H8s rig....without the sooooo 80's black and white moo cow paint :flipoff2:

I know him, haven't seen the magazine but the specs are: 4.0L, AX-15, Military D60 & 14 bolt, Atlas II, 3/4 ellip front, 1/4 ellip rear. If you want I can see if I can dig up a few more pics.

Cochese,

Oh please please please could you?

I don't know why - but it just turns my crank.

I'm most interested in pics of the suspension, steering, body customization and that kickass cage!

I would be forever grateful

Many thanks

We rode with him last October in Gardendale, AL. His jeep is sure nice. Kinda made me cringe when he told me he put his atlas on his credit card.:D :D :D

Hate to see that statement :nuke:

Morph,

If it is, he's moved (mag says Alabaster AL) and the Jeep sure has changed.

Right colour, and was a YJ, but sure doesn;t look like that anymore!

Atlas on a CC....rookie...I put a whole truck on my CC last week

Of course it only cost 1/4 of what an Atlas does:p

I remeber seeing several pics after he finished the rebuild, but I have no clue where I saw those :(. I rode with them just before he finished up, so I unfortunately haven't seen it.

Jason's Jeep can be seen at www.bluetorchfab.com - There are a ton of pics of his Jeep during the buildup. Dan DuBose is the owner of BlueTorch Fabworks. Email him if you have any questions, he is extremely knowledgeable and always helpful...

I rode with Jason a little while ago at a CAOS club ride. He does have a cool Jeep, and I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure that he doesn't have a 3/4 elip front any more. I want to say that he has coilovers or something else. www.caos4x4.com is going to be your best bet at getting a hold of him since he is now the president of CAOS. (There's no popups there. The addy listed above is their old site from a long time ago. They don't use it any more.)

Ok, why are you guys so drooly about a rig with 3/4 elip up front? I thought that was a dangerous no-no? Or at least a ghetto setup that provided dubious suspension and traction benefits currently out-of-favor at PBB? Serious question here, what gives?

If a guy can do a shitty design (not speaking of the YJ, I haven't looked at it) but has good fab skills, quality fit and finish, it's "cool"

Also depends on what the cool kids think....

I dont particularly care for the suspension set up, but what i do like, and do drool over daily is the nice fab work, the cage, and the overall look of the vehicle. I would prefer a simple soa, with the same attention to detail. If i was a millionare i would go coilovers.

Actually, Jason is the VP of CAOS, and he can easily be reached over at the CAOS board (www.caos4x4.com).

Sounds like a lot of nice comments on the Jeep. The Jeep was built about three years ago for Jason Bishop. It was built on a budget and coil overs were not an option. I would like to correct on thing mentioned before. I believe someone said the tranny was a AX-15. The Jeep was built with a Art Carr 727 automatic. Just if anyone was wondering.

I will be happy to answer any questions about the Jeep. Just send me an email.

Later,
Dan DuBose

I would like to also add that the front is no longer 3/4 elliptic. I tried to talk him out of it when I built the Jeep, but he wanted it. It now is a simple spring over with shackle reversal. The front has add-a-leafs in the factory spring packs.

Thanks,
Dan DuBose

Hey Dan da Man,
You can build a jeep
Like nobody can:eek:
Lots of good comments about your handy work.
Give me a call next time you are up this way.
I was helping J. Rose work on the black 4Runner today, it was rear axle bearing time.
See ya,
Hal

HAL,

I will be in Bham Friday. I have to take care of a little business early in the day, but plan to stop in and see the crowd at Sport Trucks later in the day. Maybe I will catch you there. God to hear from you.
