i built these things a while ago and just got the pics loaded a short while ago. i decided that i wanted rear tube fenders to match the front ones that i was getting at the time and are now on there. (no recent pics) i just thought i would post a couple of pics to see what you guys thought.
i baught the PSC crusher corners and built some custom flares to go on the outside. i used 1.25 DOM and some 3/16 flat bar. figured up the specs on how i wanted these things bent and away we went. we made these things (my dad and i) so that they didn't stick straight out and that they had a little bit of an angle at the front and they were a little higher hopping that if we ran into a rock that they might just slide off instead of tearing the whole thing off.
here are some pics of the process.
we ended up making a couple sets and selling them at a local swap meet. we would have made more and plan on it but we need to find another tube bender. (the other
one wasn't ours and they ended up selling it)

my dad wanted to make the welds smooth so se ground off the welds and the primer filled in the rest of the small imperfections.
here is a faily new pic of them on the jeep. (a couple weeks before the new tube FF)

I like em! :smokin: Im working on getting some done myself. Im moveing the back axle back a bit, so Im going to have some custum rear "crusher corners" made so the wheel opening is moved back.
Then do pretty much the same thing with the tooooob. The Po-Po round here like to mess with me already :( , so I gotta keep the tires somewhat covered. :D

Looks very nice, but I woudl have cut the rest of the fender out from the tube down, might give it a little cleaner appearance. This is what I did with mine about a year ago I simply tied the front and rear together so as to have one smooth surface to slide and bump off of. These pics are old but shows what I did. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=238919

i'm not exactly sure how much they wiegh, maybe 5-7lbs more than the cusher corners themselves. it's worth the wieght for strength IMO. i need to have something so that i can still drive it on the street; otherwise i would have just left them w/out flairs. and i would have gottent the front tube fenders w/out flares also. i'll have to find a pic of the thing now. might be a couple days.
thanks for the replys!
getting the exact same bends on both sets was the hardest part. just needed a little "massaging" lol.

That is funny cause Poison Spyder Customs is making the same thing now. They call them Crusher flares. You can get them already welded on the crusher flares when you order them new or if you already have crusher corners you can call up and order the crusher flares. Check out there site and you will see what I mean, just look at what they call Crusher Flares.

yeah i know. we were thinking about patening the idea and making them but it was just too much of a hastle and took too much time. while having another full time job, it would be pretty tough.

Tube rear flares are available from Poison Spyder Customs, with the intention of being welded to a full "crusher corner". $164 for a pair retail. www.spydercustoms.com/index2.html
