O.K. Wagon experts my 89 fj62 needs more range then the 200 to 230 miles I get per tank. Who makes an extended range tank for th 62's. I checked the usual suspects and they only list tanks for the 60's. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Why not just buy one for an FJ60? The rear portion is prety much the same.

I realize that the carburated version tank may not have all the same hose inlets and outlets, but I'm sure you could figure that out.

I know that FJ62s have the fuel pump in the tank. Guess needed for the higher fuel pressure of the EFI. But other than that, arn't they pretty much the same?

I know a couple of people that have used an external electric fuel pump to adapt an FJ60 tank to an FJ62.

LongRanger and Davis-Brown are two big companies that make tanks for the 60 series Land Cruiser, both are in Australia and are distributed by several of the big retailers. In the US, MAF and Specter sell similar (though not identical) long range tanks, you might want to give them a call.

Thanks for the input guys. I thought about using a 60 tank, but figured the in tank pump wouldn't work, never thought about an inline pump. Has any one used an external pump and had any problems with them?

USFSHIc- Thanks for the offer, but I'm looking for a larger tank to get me longer range between fuel stops. Ya I know by a honda :D

The usual suspect were SOR and MAF, but I only checked their catalogs so A call might be worth it.

Thanks
Michael

This guys shop is down the street from my office

http://www.trailquest.com/tanks.shtml

He would fabricate a tank (he is approved for this) if there were enough initial orders. His tanks are top quality, and if you want STAINLESS, he can do it - NICE.

I started drawing one on ACAD awhile back but got sidetracked.

He was not interested in FJ40 tanks, he said the current price (3 years ago) was to competitive. My budy with a body lift had him make a huge rear tank thought ( I think it was 30 gal).

I see his Jeep tanks go out by the pallets.

You might look into Aerotank. They make a 40 gallon replacement tank
