Got my SOR news letter, and right there on the front... a nice pic of a restored LV and...

COMING SOON! 45 Series LV Wagon Parts
Specter Off Road will soon carry 45 Series LV Wagon headliners,
carpet sets, tail light lenses  , interior door panals :D , front & rear upholstery sets, weatherstripping, used parts and more!

I'm hoping those tail light lenses are priced like their reproduction bib and FJ25 tail light lenses.

I haven't heard anything. I thought the 45lv lenses were going to reproduced first. Shortly after that the 45lpb lenses were getting made and they are done already.

Wow! Have that many LVs come out of the woodwork over the last year or two? I'm wondering what made Spector think there's a profitable market.

no, they will be our lenses. Have no fear, we will still get them first and still at cost. Kind of presumptuous of SOR though since we dont even have a prototype yet.

The LPB lens was delivered to the shop first, and we stalled on the LV lenses to try and get cat eyes so there was a delay in starting them. I believe the prototypes are on their way to my source and then will be forwarded to me.

Since the day I bought Steve Kopito's LV, I've been telling Marv about all of the great stuff going on and all of the LV interest here on the Board. He is also restoring a LV for Toyota. To tell you the truth, he hasn't mentioned anything to me about reproducing LV parts. I learned all of that here on the Board. He has also heard of LV reproduction parts made by "others" being priced sky high. I'll bet he had a good set of LV lenses and the connection to make them. His bib and FJ25 tail light lenses go for $22 each I think. Headliners, carpet sets, and upholstery is made right at his shop. I'm thinking that he probably contacted his friend Steve who restored Pimp's LV for the weather stripping info. I'm sure Marv knows there's not a huge market for this stuff being that there's only a handful of LV's left. He's prolly making this stuff because no one else is and he can.

Well, since the connection is Steve Kopito to the overseas? shop that does the repro, I'd say thats more than a safe bet.

I also think that this is an opprotunity to use the time and expense afforded to them by Toyota to make some extra sets of stuff for the LV. Heck you know they are already making some seats and door panels for thier rig why not make patterns so extras can be made. They already will know the costs and be able to make a profit from the word go.

In regards to the lenses, are the gaskets for them getting repro'd to?

I have to just say for the record, I am loving all the repro talk with respect to the lv. I will be purchasing most of the stuff talked about. My first purchases will be from folks on this board, whether or not they are making a profit, and then I will go straight to SOR. Everything I have purchased from them is exactly what I expected.

I hope all of these parts that have been discussed become reality. Cause they sure will help bring our wagons back to a more original and more presentable life!

Thanks to all and just let us know where we can buy all these parts.

I have no idea how he is expecting to turn a profit on those 25 lenses, after buying a run, cataloging, glossy print flyer, stocking......for what? Maybe a potential market of 50-100 surviving FJ25's?

Steve will not back door you. Marv truly has a passion for these vehicles, if anything, he's doing it to retain his position as the premiere LC parts house.....but I don't think it's even that deep. :)

Those who provide the samples get first crack at the spoils!!

Please be patient, the person who makes the lenses is a one man
shop and production can take time.

I think Marv is doing this just because he can.

I admire that greatly.

If SOR can do it for a reasonable price and make a dollar I am down for that, especially when they are offering non existing parts.

They have the resources to source and manufacture on a far larger scale than most could.

I have found the internet is a good device to find the best product at resonable pricing.

That said I am still reluctant to purchase from unknown sources.

Its good to have access to expired parts through outside sources. Marv is passionate about cruisers and would rather have the part than not profit aside.
