: Custom Driveshafts, or swap a T-Case?

I've recently bought a 1983 Chevy k10 with 4" of lift, and 37's... Now the bad part, the front axle is banging hard (I think it's coming from the hub actually, it only clanks when they're locked), brakes on the 10/12bolts are shot, and the truck needs new U-Joints all around. So, I have a 75 k20 behind my house that is down to the frame that I will be salvaging the d44/14bolt FF out of, and putting under the 83; My question is, do I A: Swap out just the axles, and get the driveshafts redone so it uses the larger U-Joints just at the axles, and the smaller 1/2 ton units up at the t-case, or B: Swap out the axles and t-case, and use the driveshafts from the 75?

It's probably a really stupid question, and seems really obvious to some of you what to do, but I'm a newbie, and want to know what would be ideal for my situation.

Just for some more info, both trucks are running 350/350/203 combo's... so I don't think I'd need to swap any kind of internals if I swapped the cases.

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it. :smokin:

Why dont you just swap the flanges from the one t-case to the other so you can run the bigger u-joints. This seem's a whole lot simpler than swapping the whole case's.
