Anybody venture to guess at the strength difference between the D30 alloy (w/ 297x) shafts and the Warn D44 shafts?
27-spline vs 30-spline, but is there any difference at the ears?
Worth tossing a set of CTM's in there and seeing how they hold up, or save the $300 for my D60?

Hey, call me stupid, but Im gonna be at least putting a set of TJ front shafts in my yj to eliminate the vaccum, and get the 297's.. and if that holds up, I'll eventually go to alloys, and ctms.. in the 30

the Yokes are the same, at least on the warn shafts. I would venture to guess with CTM's and 27 spline axle shafts the axles themselves would be the week link  search for a post by lance resently about Lifetime warranty on warn shafts, and carry spares.
I say its worth it to find out.
So far my 30 has held up. Only the Little bolts that hold the ARB together keep falling out. But we welded them in this time.
8 U joints, 2 axles as a result of U joint failure...
4:10's and 35's If you wonder...
I think CTM's in my case would help out big time.

Anybody else? I'm running 38's via ~ 70:1 ratio on the 4.2L, so there's some torque, but nothing offensive...
$300 would be a helluva lot cheaper than a full D60 for the front.
How hard are you guys beating on those CTM's?? I guess I'm sorta rough on my truck :D
