I have a 2000 WJ Laredo. My question is with there being so little for lift kits availible for my Jeep, what can I do to get more lift? I have a sprung over and stretched Yj, had a lifted 91 XJ, so i know a little about lifting jeeps but this baffles me in the 6 years that the WJ has been out there is not a good selection of lifts for them. Also I only want around 3 inches of lift so I can clear 31" tires and will not limit my flex(aka budget boost).

Thought number 1, Use a ZJ lift kit, but I think they are not compatable.

Thought number 2, Use a TJ lift kit, but spring rates are way off and I dont know much about TJ kits.

thought number 3, build my own kit using various parts, the only think is what controll arms work, what springs work, and what track bars do I use?

sorry for the book but wanted to give all the info.

Main differnce between TJ/XJ/ZJ vs WJ is that the WJ coils are much wider in diameter. Back in 99' before any lift kits existed, I had Coil Spring Specialties in Saint Marys, Kansas make a set with 3" of lift and a spring rate 5% over stock for my wifes WJ. Also acquired a pitman arm from Tera-Flex's supplier (they had them made before they started to design a kit). I installed a couple of TJ kits back in 97-98. Instructions called for redrilling track bar bracket 5/16-11/16? to the right to reuse existing track bar. That's what I planned to do with the WJ.

Long story short--before I fabbed up arms--vehicle got totalled--parts are still sitting in boxes. Even have a Superlift speed calibrater for a Chrysler somewhere around here still sealed in plastic. Would let these parts go for dirt cheap...if interested.
