: moving front axle forward

My shackle reversal allows my front tires to move up and back into my fenders. I want to move the front axle forward ~2" on the springs (make a plate w/ an offset centering hole). What kind of steering linkage problems will I be creating and how can I solve them? Will moving the axle forward be as easy as I think it will be?
This is for my sprung-under daily driven CJ, so it needs to handle well. I tried a search, but couldn't find answers to my steering questions. Thanks.

There is a whole write-up on this and plenty of info here (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=55276&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending=)

unless your getting hard-core, just add YJ fenders and TJ flares to give you more room. For a daily driver this is easier (and no long down time)

The hardest part is moving the steering box forward, actually moving the axle forward would just require drill new holes in your spring perches and U-bolt plates.

Making a new steering box mount isn't that difficult. If I can do it with the limited tools I have. I'm thinking any one with an existing steering box mount, some steel plate, a sawzall and a welder a can make one that will be much stronger then the existing mount.

Oh and with the shackle angle and the long flat springs I am running... My tires move forward rather back through the suspension cycle.

If I only move things a little (~2") do I need to relocate the steering box, or will the angle created be small enough that I can get away with it (or will I create interfearances and bump steer)?

I don't have the skills for the fab work needed to move the spring mounts and steering box. That's why I want to move the axle forward on the spring just a little (same thing at the rear but aft, and there's no steering components to get in the way).
