I searched, but didnot come up with any usable answers.
for those who have done SAS to newer rigs(with air bags) do they have to be disabled? or do they function normally?
I know that on new trucks that snow plows are installed they needs to be switch so they can be turned off while plowing. would there need to be a switch installed for a SAS,(to turn the bag off)btwn street and wheelin?
TIA for info...............Karl

just pull the fuse while wheelin', and call it good

usually the sensors have to be compressed are right behind the bumper or just above the frame rail. unless you cut the line you should not have to do anything in regards to Air Bags. I did SAS on 95 explorer. did nothing to airbags - i assume everything is fine since i did not touch move or otherwise molest anything regarding the air restraint system.

im getting ready to do a sas on my escalade, and the sensors and all will work just fine. for wheeling, i dont nessasarily (sp) agree with pulling the fuse, bt would call your dealer on your make, and ask one of the techs the easiest way to disable the air bag. since the sensors work off of a jolt, you might be ale t just install a switch in line, and then turn them off that way.

the last sas i did ona 96 chevy, we had no problems with leaving them hooked up. we did some crazy stuff with that truck too. it never went off, until someone hit him pretty hard.

leave the airbag stuff untouch, if you are wheeling the the airbag goes off is because you need it.
i wheel my truck pretty hard and my airbag hasn't activated.
