: Started an exo
zooki guy 02-01-2005, 09:17 AM A while ago I made a post asking for pics of exo, so I thought I would post some of my progress so far.
Here is a pic of my bender. I put hydraulics on it at christmas break. The old school way sucked. A few mods were made for easier use, but it works flawless. The cylinder can be brought to full stroke in 12 secs. Works good for re-pinning and I still can feather it to get bends perfect. I got allot of info off of pirate when I built it. :flipoff2:

Here is the progress so far. We made the rear a little different because eventually the wheel base will be extended and the rear chopped off for a flat deck. So that was kept in mind when we design it. Big cheers to John and Doug for your help.

We made the fender bars and are having a little dilemma. Which one do you think looks the best and ads function for what a cage is?
Number 1

Another shot of 3

Which one do you think looks and functions the best. I am thinking #3 but with a center support. Also do you think small upper corner gussets or the center "V" for the window frame?
What do you think? :flipoff2:
Toolbox 02-01-2005, 09:21 AM #3, hands down. Much cleaner and uncluttered. Nice work, BTW! Looks good.
Whalen 02-01-2005, 09:27 AM thats a different look.
Im likeing the first option for the fender bar support. 3 isnt bad though. Go with the 'V' in the windshield frame if you want as much structural support as possible. deff lookin good! a little wide though...
projckt_Wldkat 02-01-2005, 03:07 PM nice work, very smooth lines,
my vote is for #1, the cruves match you front end and gives it some flare. #3 is a much simpler, yet cleaner look.
86sami 02-01-2005, 07:16 PM wow nice work #3 clean uncluttered.
OKIE ZUK 02-01-2005, 07:32 PM That's a lot of curves and tube. :)
Skippie 02-01-2005, 08:49 PM I vote for #1. It's not as "busy" as the other designs. :flipoff2:
misery 02-01-2005, 09:59 PM Why an exo? you obviously dont wheel it.
Skippie 02-01-2005, 10:54 PM Why an exo? you obviously dont wheel it.
I believe it's a work in progress. If you notice, he references extending the wheelbase and chopping the rear.

I believe it is black w/no scratches, maybe 32" tires, all stock, and if you notice has an exo to protect the fender flares :flipoff2:
misery 02-01-2005, 11:14 PM I will give give you props on your bending skills.Girls want a guy with skills. :D
Skippie 02-01-2005, 11:28 PM and if you notice has an exo to protect the fender flares :flipoff2: Well, you may have a point there! :flipoff2:
misery 02-01-2005, 11:32 PM my point exactly :flipoff2:
johny5 02-01-2005, 11:49 PM actually the trucks on toy diffs and 35s, he was daily driving it when he put the flairs on and had to sell one of his kids for the flairs.
bulletproof 02-02-2005, 12:35 AM That's a lot of curves and tube. :)
<-----was thinking the same thing!!! :flipoff2:
#3
jones 02-02-2005, 06:25 AM He's got a 1.6 too. I like #3. :D
UZI 9mm 02-02-2005, 07:27 AM #3 is cool, with the addition of a smaller "vertical" piece of tube midway between the front and rear bends, I think. :)
I wish *I* had an exo to protect my fender flares :crybaby2:
R.I.P. fender flares :(
zooki guy 02-02-2005, 08:33 AM Its been wheeled Misery. :flipoff2: Don't you worry. The reason the flares are on is to keep the poo poo away. I was daily driving it a long way every week and didn't want to get a vi. If I hit the flares without protection it would have just caved in my fender. Plus those flares aren't cheap to get to Canada :flipoff2:
Specs on my stock Suzuki:
F/I 1.6ltr
Header
2" exhaust
4 to 1 crawler
Toy diffs locked
4.88's (still needed to drive it on the highway)
35" tires
Power steering
Blah blah blah :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
SammiGrrl 02-02-2005, 11:00 AM I vote #3. and get some body damage already!!! geez! :flipoff2:
Super J 02-02-2005, 02:21 PM #3 Pants down.... I mean hands down.
jollypirate 02-02-2005, 02:48 PM i think you should do a combo of 2 and 3. with the bent vertical supports in the middle and the crooked ones going from corner to the fisrt vertical supporton both sides.
am i making any sense here?
or am i just to creative? :flipoff2:
bob large 02-02-2005, 03:23 PM I'm leaning for #3 :D
Reflexx 02-02-2005, 03:28 PM hey,
how about #1 with the bends outward???
Just a though.
Reflexx :D

well post some proof of this 'wheeling' (driving dirt roads does not count) :flipoff2:
MOSDIF589 02-02-2005, 10:28 PM I vote for #3
Some people think you have to have a piece of crap to go wheel'n... There are easy trails & hard trails, pick the one you like and have at it...
Islandzuki 02-02-2005, 11:23 PM #3
nice tube work....
and yes you must really love them flares :flipoff2:
misery 02-10-2005, 11:47 PM I vote for #3

its not that you have to have a p.o.s. it is more like if you wheel it than it most likely have at least one scratch.especially a black p.o.s.
still waiting on the 'wheeling pics'
Im guessing he chose the easy ones :flipoff2:
johny5 02-12-2005, 01:48 AM yeah fucker lets see some wheeling pics, got that thing welded yet?
zooki guy 02-12-2005, 06:26 AM Hey Misery and Johnny fawk you :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Been sick all week so it sits the same as when it left.
