Yes, I tried searching and I didn't find anything. Does anyone
have the website url or a phone # for "O'Brians" (sp). A friend
is wanting to put lower gears in his Dana20 t-case and he wants
to know all the options. Thanks.

You can try TerraFlex http://www.teraflx.com/ They have a low set for the 20. I had Jack O'brians number but can't find it now. Someone will have it. How about it Mark?
I hear the O'brian gears and a new WH output shaft are the hot ticket for a 20.

Thanks FearMe, but I know about Tera. I was looking for O'Brians
because I know they have a lower and stronger gear set available.

by the time you buy the low gears and WH output shaft you may as well have bought an Atlas II for another $300.

By you name I'm guessing you're talking CJ D20, so the Bronco guys probably won't help. Just talk to Jack.

anybody come up with one that will work in a d20 mated to a TF727 yet? I'm sure it will never happen but I gotta ask;)

Geez you couldn't ask this in the IH section or search? Dam rednecks :flipoff2: Jack sells 3.15 and 3.6 that will work with the IH 727, also Tera is suppose to be making the 3.15 Tera gears for the 27 spline. Jack's setup is about 1500 for the 3.15 and 1700 for the 3.6.

OK, fist let me get the formality's out of the way: jdjanda........................................... .............................BLOW ME!:flipoff2:

Secondly, thanks for the info, All I have ever seen posted on this board was; "you can't put lower gears in your d20 if you use a 727 because the t-case has a unique input shaft, so you should switch to a manual tranny"

Price????

and jdjanda, you do the search for me ok, I actually have work to do (physical labor, ya friggin desk jockey).

Why is it that every time the subject comes up of buying something for a tcase that is not an Atlas, someone ALWAYS chimes in with their "for that money and only $1800 more, you could have bought an Atlas" line.

Here's a tip to future posters:

Not everyone wants or needs an Atlas. Get over it. Life will go on as we know it. I promise.

Just a word of caution about Tera's gears. My buddy put them in his scout. Worn out 345 (I do mean worn out) granny gear 4spd, tera gears (set up by shop) 3.73 gear and pro comps 35's on the d44's, detroit rear and lock-rite front. Blew out the first set with less than 500 miles and no "gettin it". Had problems getting tera to warrant it. Paid for new gears, shop intalled it for free. Blew it out again same situations, backing up on the granite next to the little sluice and then let the clutch out to pull forward, zero throttle. This time tera said send it back to them so they could install it. Got smart and sold it. Tera said that he had too much motor and that his tires were too big.

Amen to that
But mike's number must be right, because thats what i have too, just get them from BCbroncos' its about the same price

Stay away from the 3.something gears, IMO those are a watse of money, get some 4.86's hay wait thats deeper then an atals :p

I gotta disagree. Once you swap out the gears, and then the output shaft, you still have the shitty input shaft. So you dump all this money into this thng when you could have bough the Atlas for the SAME price. So you have a choice here. Go the WEAK way, or go the strong way. I prefer the strong way, but hell, that is just me.

I would prefer to do a C6 203-205 combo in my rig. Can't get much stronger thatn those 2 t- cases.

Well, I'm not your buddy, but that is the exact story of my Tera gears too. Except Tera wouldn't give me my second set for free. I paid for the replacements, put her back together and sold the case. When they told me that my 185,000 mile IH 345 was too much engine for their gears, I knew that Tera gears were not for me.

I gotta agree here too.

Honestly though, it would be great to have an Atlas, in fact, it would be a smart move, but......I just don't have that much cash to drop all at once, especially when you consider that I'm (and most people) are doing thirty other things at the same time...for me it's a drivetrain swap. So building in increments is the best I can do sometimes.

It's gonna be interesting to see if people are going to be breaking the 6 spline spud shaft with the 32 spline HD output in place.

So O'brians and Teras are the only ones out there?

Anyone have the WH output installed yet. Any feed back? I was concern about where the next weak point would be with the WH shaft and haven't bought pending some feedback.
I have the O'brien deep gears (4 years now) and did spin one output shaft...carry a spare now. Running 36/12.50 SX's...no issues for the last 2 years (435/302 stk). I have debated selling the case and gears to fund either a Atlas or the KluneV planatary/205 combo...all to safely run 38.5/15.5's.

Any opinion on the Klunev-205 combo? It is another option that should be bullet proof even on 38's or bigger... I have no info on the KluneV product...$$? I know the drivelines need changing

Only other option I know of is the 203/205 or 203/D20. I believe the 203/D20 is the cheapest way to get lower.
