today i went to a friends farm to look for a shortbox for my gmc and while i was there i found a TON of stuff thats worth money he has laying around.. i told him he could get some cash for it and he told me to sell it for him and he'd gimme a chunk of the cash.

Well he has a 1980 International Scout.. its got a 345 motor, auto on the floor, 4x4, runs and drives. Sorry i really have no other information on it other than its brown and i think it was a 4 door.

I'm wondering what we should ask for this? and would anyone be interested in buying it? If you need soem more information let me know and i can try and get it maybe even some pictures.

Get some pictures. 80 is a desirable year, but scout folks are notoriously cheap fawks, so don't expect a goldmine.

If it's 4 door, it's not a scout. As noted, the 1980 model is desirable, but vehicle worth will really depend on running condition and how much rust it has. Probably $500-$2500 for the rig depending on condition....

Just talked to the fella.. its not a 4 door i dont knwo where i got that.. he said if you put plugs and wires in it it would run like new. Its a Scout II and it has a fully removable top.. the body has rough spots but its not all that bad.

I'd say it's probably worth $1200 or so based on what you've said, but i'm pretty cheap...

people think anything older than 20 years old out here in an antique and worth money. LOL

I guess a lot of the older vehicles out here are rust free, so they could be worth a little more, but still, I hate NM vehicle prices sometimes....

I've run into many of those types around here as well. Seems like they would rather keep it and continue to trip over it until it's not worth pissing on and have to pay someone to haul off the remnants to the scrap yard then to sell it to somebody for a reasonable price.

Scrap rigs get $45 a ton around here. Sure thing and you don't have to mail parts to anyone.

The last 1980 I bought I paid $200 for it. It had sat for 7 years and in 20 minutes I had it running :cool2:

Hes got a couple shortbed 2wd chevys.. he had 3 i bought 1 from him.. hes got a chevy van with a 4bolt main and other shit in it. I just got off the phone with him about the truck i bought from him i shoulda asked what else.
