: Backward Boggers?

I have a set of 35 x 16 x 15 boggers. the front sides of the tread is starting to wear out but the dept and everything else is fine. What are your opinions of running the boggers backwards to gain the sharp edge again? Try to stay out of the mud but a lot of midwest trails and rockledges.

I have heard of people running 1 bogger backwards to get better traction in reverse, so I would guess that means they dont get good traction backwards, But I have never owned a set so I may not be the best person to ask

they will dig some great holes if you put them on backwards.

It would be better if you got ahold of a tire groover and cut some new edges on the lugs.

I was considering that and wasn't sure how exactly to do that. I will do a search and see if I can find some pics. Thanks everybody for your input.... Jake

Hey we are headed to tuttle feb 23rd. It's pretty easy but we are going do try the short rockgarden and the harder trails to test out a new Jeep. We are backing out on the clayton trip that weekend to test the jeep closer to home. I'm with the kc4wda to Clayton march 16th.

Mine are doing the reverse. Wearing on the back side of the lugs. Siping them just made them worse. But now the "sharp" edge is the leading edge so they grab even harder.

I'm w/ KC4WDA as well. Just joined a few months ago. I hope my 'Runner is ready by the Clayton run. Later

Hey, not to hijack your thread, but you KC guys need to come to Sedalia on July 6th & 7th. I'm puttin' on a 2-day mud race - drags on day one, bogs on the 2nd. There's also gonna be monsters, tough trucks, & the show crowd, but I'm only involved in the mud. Will have details up on my web site in a week or two :)

Not this year. But, if enough of you rock guys show up & campaign for it, maybe in 2003. You'd have to convince the promoter. Seriously, the biggest statement you could make would be to bring in your rock machines, park 'em in the Show N Shine area, with a sign in front of each one that says:

"We want a competition rock crawl in 2003!"

The promoter is a former mud guy like me. He's expanded first to monsters, then show trucks, then tough trucks, then quads (not at this event, but at some others he's doing). And he even talked about rocks for 2002 events at one time. So, y'all just have to push him over the edge ;)

Yeah I had mine in the ford show over at metcalf south when I got mine done. I don't think it'll get by anymore with all the rock rash..... Good Luck Tex with the event! Jake

Our promoter has a "board of directors" that take care of everything aside from the mud (that's MINE). Bunch of show truckers for the most part. Promoter wants to get more "regular" vehicles involved, so I keep telling him he needs trophies for more than just "most bulletproof" & "ugliest 4x4". I suggested "best club participation", "best club display", "most trailworthy", and "best trail trophy" - meaning Ozark pinstriping or other boo-boos. But, he's leaving all the decisions up to the chromeheads, so it's kinda doubtful that such colorful awards will be given LOL.
