I posted this in the ford section, but didn't know what kind of traffic it would see there... and i know some of you guys use these things as tow rigs.

i am doing some maintence on my wife's Grandfathers truck. it's a 95 F350 crew cab dually 2wd diesel. i changed the engine oil and filter (which was super duper black, is that normal for diesels?), tranny oil and filter, going to grease the drive line, and change the rear diff oil.. i was just about to crack the cover off when i noticed that there isn't a fill plug... or is there one and i am just blind... can you guys help me out?? thanks. also i was going to put in 80-90w oil... is that the correct weight? or should i use that heave 80-140w?

Thanks for any help!!!!

Steve

Well if it is not in the rear diff cover than it is on the back side ( 3rd member housing)depending on which way you are looking and a 3/8 ratchet will get the plug out. Also Black oil is normal.

Bingo! Chazz hit it. Most fords have the fill plug on the front of the axle (Towards the front of the truck) and a 3/8 socket wrench and extension will take it out.
