i'm collecting parts for the SOA,

and was looking at how my rear revovlers are sitting, and it looks like using a flat spring(i.e. stock YJ spring with an AAL) will make the revovler completely rest on the spring and will hit the zerc fitting too

has anybody done an SOA with flat springs and rear revolvers, and if so what is the remedy???

the fronts arent a problem since the design of the front revovler is a bit different from the rear

actually, he's right... with a properly set-up SOA you won't need or want the revolvers on there... do a search and you'll find some pretty scary stories.

They should work fine with flat springs if you really want to use them... They sell them for stock Wranglers, which are flat springs, so that shouldn't be a problem...

Climbing hills, and staying upright should be your real worry.

Okay since youve pissed everyone off I'm going to steal your post :flipoff2:
Seems like most of the complaints about revolvers (which I read from searching) center around the rear shackles. If I get my hands on an 8.8 Im going to go soa out back but dont want to fuck around with making the front 30 work soa. Would the revolvers hurt me more than help me if I only used them up front.

I'm SOA with 2.5" springs. The revolvers clear fine but I can see where it might present a problem with flat springs. I ended up taking the revolvers off but not becuase of the SCARY stories...most of which are hearsay. I took them off because I get enough flex just being SOA.

Side note: The only real issue I ever had with the revolvers were on very steep waterfall ascents. The rear will tend to "walk-up" and open the revolver at times...stressed out the centering pins and snap goes the pin.

I'm soa w/3 1/2 leafs. The problem i had was axle rap and them hiting the fram. Just like Jeeper I took mine off also because i have all the flex in need. Flex out on something and see if it's really going to hit.
