I need pics of SOA with 3.5 inch springs. I am looking to run 36's-37's but don't want to be too tall to fit them, I'd rather just cut out some metal. I have some 3.5inch springs now but I don't know if I should use them.

i run 3 in over axle..and 37's....i have alot of clearance....10 inches from the top of the tire to the bottom of the flare (stock flare) with a 8 in rim the tire will go inside the flare...barely...
so..u can run your springs but you will be quite tall.

MoabYJ:

What did you get your axles out of and how wide are they? Have you had any problems with breaking axles with 37's? If you have any pics that would be great.
Also, what engine are you running?
Thanks

I run 2 inch BDS springs SOA and run 35x15.5x15 with no problem at all. Could most likely run at least 37 or 38

I run 2" BDS springs and 7" SSR's... oh wait I have a toyota! Seriously though I know you can fit 37's with 2" SOA and trimming. You will probably need to extend bumpstops but that is a very good thing, alot of these guys don't run bumpstops and have to run tons of lift and replace the spring often. By not over compressing the springs you extend there life a great deal.

my axles are out of a 77 1/2 ton ford pickup.
they are full width....4 in wider than a yj.
in two years i have only broke one stock axle that that was hitting it very hard and it still didnt take out the joint..just twisted the outer stub.
the 9 in rear....i pulled the stock shafts out....the splines were starting to twist on one..and put curries in..
also..i sent you a link (pic) to your email....i couldnt get the link to work right on here...let me know if u get it ok
