i have had a change of plans in my sas and have decided to go full width. well i need rims that have a very large backspacing to bring the tires under the fenders as much as i can. the problem is i cant find any in a 5x5.5 pattern.
anyone know where i can score some.

4 wheel parts. stockton wheel will make custom backspaced steelies in any size, and bart wheels has some interesting backspacing choices.

From what I have been finding theres something about deep backspacing hitting the knuckles or something on for d44 knuckles..
If you find anything more than 3.25" and they work, lemme know.

I have a set of 16x8's with 5" backspacing on my F-150, they suck..
the tires rub the radius arms. I believe the wheels are american racing( white wagonwheels)

from what i understand if its a half ton D44 it wont hit the calipers, thats more an 8 lug or 3/4+ ton truck issue, but i am not sure as to if it will hit the steering arm (hi steer or stock knuckle location)
but i am in the same situation as you, i need some deep backspaced wheels for my SAS. Stockton wheels have a bad rap (do a search) but will make the wheels for you, if they get to you as you ordered, thats another issue.

Mine clear fine ona stock 79' f-150 axle, however, the guy I got them from had went to highsteer, and they hit the TRE's

Don't drop the cash without taking some measurements and being sure the tires will not rub the radius arms at full lock.

My old EB ran 4.25 B/S no rubbing, but it had Chevy disc brakes

I am running a 78 Bronco axle with Ford knuckles and brakes. I have AR-767 15x8's with 4" BS. The 35's rub the radius arms pretty bad as I have not set my steering stops as of yet and there is not much room between the bead of the rim and the tre mount on the knuckle. If you go with a 16 or 17" rim you will beable to run much deeper back spacing, but I think with all ford parts on a Bronco/150 system 4.25" is going to be about all you can run with out rubbing your TRE's/

Hi,
I am running full width axles under an early bronco. Found some eagle alloy wheels that are sweet. 17 x 9 with a 5" back space. Clears the tie rods. Truck is 1" wider on ea side now as compared with the stock width axles and a 15 x 10 wheel and a 4 " back set.
