So i was wheelin when i first got my truck a while ago and little did i know that the bump stops were not lowered, so i am going up this hill and flex my suspension a little to far and thud, thud , thud , my tire is knocking at my stepside fender. Well that was a while ago and i just now am getting around to fixing it. Any directions or hints on how to do this would be appreciated. it is cracked in the center of the fender, in front of the rear axle. I have heard that working with fiberglass is fairly easy but i have never done so i would appreciate some help, thanks

Fiberglass work isn't easy, its an art! Plus it real nasty stuff to work with, you definately don't want to breath the fumes or sanding dust. A good fiberglass man can pretty much get what ever they want for repairs. I have seen only one guy that could do magic with fiberglass, he collected four sections of different first year vettes ans put a show car together. The car was absolutely gorgeous!
You can buy one of the fiberglass repair kits to fix your problem, but it takes alot of practice to get professional results.....:skull:

Grind the glass back at a taper about 6" on both sides, use laminating resign and laydown woven glass in several layers on both sides untill the desired thickness. grind sand finish. Make sure when you lay down resign and glass you scuff the surface up a bit and is ultra clean. The cool thing about glass is if you screw it up you just grind and apply more. Its not that hard pratice and have fun with it. I like to use a resperator when sanding a dust mask is worthless.
If there is any parts of your fender missing use a pice of cardboard as a bridge on the first application.
