I just bought 2 Line locks for my EB. (35.00 apeice through Summit) Anyone installed one of these? Are they supposed to go before or after the prop. valve? Im getting conflicting reports on where they get installed. Also does anyone know if the Hurst Shifter with the button built into the handle is momentary? Or is it a on/off switch? Thanks

yep. I used to run an aftermarket handle from auto-zone. It was carbonfiber and had the button on the side. I found it in the *blink*bling* section of the store by the jap parts. East to install, yank stock handle straight up...replace with new cool handle.

It sounds like you have the electric line locks? you know that those are only designed for momentary use? They are not designed to act as a parking break, just to lock the front tires while your car is sitting at the X-mas tree or in the water box. JC-Whitney sells a cheap mechanical one that could be used for extended periods

Even the mechanical ones won't work to get you by a State vehicle inspection, all State laws that I know of require a mechanical system separate from the hydralic system to stop you if your hydrallic system fails.
I've got an electric Hurst one plumbed into my rear lines and with the momentary switch on the shifter it is great at holding your position while you slowly work the gas/clutch for a nice smooth take off without any backwards roll while getting over obsticles.

Ya i know you cant use them for extended periods of time. But just in case i needed that shifter hand free, i wanted a switch that would hold until i switched it off. Im not going to use it as en E-brake either. My stock one will work fine if i can get my stupid drum off to replace the cable.

I use the same electric line lock
sold buy sumit.
in the front. it works great.
I put it in the front because I have disk breaks
up front.
I also added a light that stays on as long as
it is activated.
it will bleed off over time but in emergency
you probubly have enugh time to
get out and set a winch line.

WTF I am not cool with "probubly". That is some seriously scary chit.
Do they all bleed off, or just the electrics?
