***BLUERIBBON ALERT *** BLUERIBBON ALERT ***Your comments are needed by Monday Feb. 19th to support the Forest Service Revised Transportation Policy!
To write a letter to Chief Bosworth, go to:
http://capwiz.com/share/issues/alert/?alertid=101049
MORE DETAILS:
These proposed revisions will correct the confusing, top-down, bureaucratic transportation rules set forth during the Clinton administration. They will:
1. Get rid of the confusing "unroaded" concept by which "unroaded" areas could be identified, then designated roadless, then wilderness.
2. Road management activities in roadless areas will not require a full blown EIS to proceed.
3. Local land managers can make road management decisions after a forest wide roads analysis is done.
Comments must be sent in by Monday, Feb. 19th
Do it now and pass this alert on! *** END ALERT *** END ALERT *** END ALERT *** END ALERT ***
