My 87 Bronco motor was rebuilt in 2000. It just sat for 7 months in the Yuma, Az hot sun. Now at idle and while i'm driving it drops down to like 300 rpms, and keeps staying low. Sometimes it goes to 2000rpms and stays revving high. It should stay at like 1000rpms. While i'm driving it cuts off sometimes. I want this fixed. I put fuel injector cleaner in but didnt help. I was told it could be the throttle position sensor? I need it fixed. Please help.

I had 2 of my 302s do this to me. Pull the throttle position sensor and clean it with some electrical cleaner. If this doesn't work the sensors are like $12 if I remember right.

yep, its the TPS, take off the lines going from your motor to the airfilter and spray some carb cleaner in there, then get at it with a rag.

Heck your Idle Air Control (IAC)motor. They are notorious for getting gummed up and not working properly. It's located on the throttle body and looks like a long cylinder, and has a wire connection on it. Remove, clean with carb cleaner and reinstall. If that doesn't work- replace it.
