I went and picked up a 2004 Lance 820 last weekend. Nothing but comfort on the wheeling trips from now on.

Cheers,

Damn.....who invited the weight police???? :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I have been on the scales and I am well within the tire ratings on the rear axle.

Sweet! It should serve you well!

I picked up a nice used Lance SquireLite 186 a few weeks ago to put on my junk. I was looking at new ones on a local Lance lot and ran across a guy selling his used one for a good price.

I'm in the process of swapping out my stock hitch for a Titan Class V and installing airbags.

I have an older Lance 800 that's remodeled and it's a good camper. I would have personally gone with a dually if you're gonna tow with it, but to each his own. Just run good E rated tires. Get ready to shell out some $ for a hitch/extension now.
Does yours have a slide out?

That's what happens when you get a shortbox.

Tom,

Very nice.. I wished I had one of those.... Can you measure the height from the ground to the top of the slide in camper? I want to see what size door I need to install for my shop.

Thanks,
Charles

I'll measure it tomorrow when I load the camper back on the truck.

You'll need a 12' door at least.

holy crap that was my first thought!

I really want to hear how it feels towing your junk. I have the same truck but lwb. Been thinking about doing a much smaller camper, so you will be a good barometer.

As far as height, I've got a '02 Ford F350 4wd lwb, Lance 10'. My height from ground to top of Thule box (same as the air conditioner) is 12'6" just for comparison's sake. Oh yeah, nice camper, I think you will enjoy it.
Do the hitch and maybe upgrade the shocks and air bags and it shouldn't handle any differently pulling a trailer or not. BTW mines a SRW and I tow a 18' trailer and used to haul my full bodied 4runner on it. Drive it like you should and you won't have any problems. As long as you aren't over the weight rating on the tires or rear axle, it's all good.
I know that will upset some, it's just been my experience. I've put some pretty good miles on mine towing with the cabover on and it's not that bad.
