I posted a while back that I could get a B2 for pretty cheap and would let my better half drive it. Well the price dropped out of the bottom and I practically stole it. '87 with 2.9 5speed and push button 4wd. All works after throwing about $50 bucks and 11 hours of wrench time at it.

The tranny was broken all the way around the shifter housing and I welded it back together for the cost of a couple of filler rods. It is back on the road but due for an insection this month. That means that I am going to have to get the "exhaust" replaced and finish fixing the "power" steering system.

So my question is what is out there aftermarket for exhaust for it. I would like to bolt on a couple horses and a better exhaust tone. First Ford I have built, besides my Escort, so anything would be a help.

Thanks for the help.

i dont know whats available in headers for a 2.8L, but i'm guessing you dont want to bother with them. seeing how they cost $300-$400.

i would just get a nice muffler from whatever your favorite company is. flowmasters are only $70 for 2 chambers, about $85 for 3 chambers.

whats your price range and what are you looking to do?

thats a good deal though!

Take a look at www.rrorc.com there are plenty of people there that have modified BII's

Or
www.therangerstation.com has plenty of info too

James Duff (http://www.jamesduff.com) makes headers for the 2.9, but im shure that thier pricy. As for exaust, if you are looking to run a cat back system, look into using a fullsize bronco muffler back from an exaust shop. You can find it in 3" if you want, and you can find it for dirt cheap. You can weld, so this will be a simple swap for you. Just hack off some of the tube, and attatch it to your last cat. Then your muffler, then whats left of the exaust system. You will have to weld on a mounting tab, and im shure that the exaust place will give you a set if you ask them for it. It will sit back a exra inch or so, but thats not a problem. Oh, and the hoop is taller over the axle, so you can flex with out worry. :D
As for a muffler, i would look into the Vortex by Cherrybomb. Its only a single chamber that runs past glasspacks and it has a venturi in the chamber that makes the exaust actually suck itself out insted of your engine pushing it. It realy works Great and gains you few ponies along with a car alarm activating exaust note.
