: Art Carr C6 bracket?

I posted this in General with zero response :(
I'm swapping out a C4 for a C6, I already have a sweet Art Carr gate shifter that I've been using with the C4. It seems that the gate plates are the same, only the bracket for mounting the shift cable to the tranny side is different. Does any one have a picture of what this bracket looks like??

I'm figuring I could make it if I knew what I was making

Thanks guys!

I don't mean to steal the tread or anything, but have you guys had any problems with the shifter cable hitting the front d-shaft? I just installed my shifter and it looks like the cable/d-shaft clearance is gonna be really close. I gotta get a front shaft made yet though before I can tell for sure.

Thanks, sorry about cutting in.

Brokecuz,

Does your cable go around the pass side, under, and then to the drivers side ? A loop around the tranny?...........Try it, you should have at least a 5' cable.........What truck?
You want a pic too ?.......lol

thanks for the pic.

When I was using the C4/D20 set up it was REAL close. My biggest problem was fishing the cable between the D20 twin stick shifter rails. The cable end did contact the drive shaft a few times, there's a nice ring around my front shaft because of it. I was able to simply bend Art Carr's bracket out of the way and everything did finally clear, but barely!

Hey Buzz, does the cable retainer bracket bolt up to the holes that the neutral saftey switch used?

I have a B&M shifter w/5' of cable in a '77 F-150 C6/205. Right now the cable makes a 180 on top of the bellhousing and then another 180 over the t-case adapter and comes down between the t-case linkage and t-case adapter then into the B&M bracket bolted to the trans pan bolts. If the cable hangs free it will hit the d-shaft u-joint. If I leave the cable routed that way I will have to tie it up somehow and the cable will have to make an almost 90* angle  and it will still be REALLY close to the d-shaft.

I will take a look and see if I can route it under the t-case adapter then over the trans up to the shifter. That might work better. Thanks for the idea.
