I have a buddy that has some 4 leaf rear and 5 leaf front yj springs.

I also have 4 cj7 stock rear springs that i may use.

The 4 cj7 springs look like they will make the jeep to tall for the 35's I am going to run. Should I get another leaf for each of the srpings or what should I do?

My jeep has a 304 and a t18. Let me have your ideas on using these springs. I am going to run Shackle reverseal on it also Just because i can.

Thanks

I run YJ springs on my SOA cj-5

You will need to get 2 sets (8) springs. 4 rears, 4 fronts

The rears are 5 packs the fronts are 4 packs, What I did to mine was cut the main eyes off the main spring on the 4 packs and added them under the main spring on teh 5 pack. I then took the second spring and added it ontop of the main spring on the 5 pack making it a 7 pack spring.

Or you can use CJ-7 rear springs from jc whitney.

I run stock YJ rears made for the hard top in the rear of my CJ-7. In the front I am using stock CJ rears. You can run something of the same setup on your CJ5, but may need to do some minor modifications. I am not sure though.

I have four good rear springs but they seem to have a shit load of arch and I hate for the dang thing to be that tall.

I wonder if I can cut the main eye out of the cj7 springs and slap em in the yj pack?
Anyone ever done this.

Thanks for all your help so far!

It will not be too high unless you already have a 2" body lift & are doing major body trimming

That arch will disappear with a load on top of them ;) and yes you can insert a CJ7 rear spring main leaf with the eyes cut off in the pack. It may add some arch though, since they have a different arch than YJ springs.
