I have destroyed 5 of the ones I am trying to get in and I really thing it is just the wrong size! Housing is a 79 ford f250 d44.
I looked in the timken catalog and they don't list it, what I am using is a 8660-S but only because it is the right size for the axle and looked close for the outside. I need to get the right seal so I can put my truck back together!
thanks..

If you still have the original seal, look closely at the inner rubber lip and get the # of of it. Normally seals cross over to different makes. A real good parts store with a knowlegable parts dude will be able to get you the right part. I have always had luck finding parts like this with BWS (Burt Williams ansd Sons) They deal mainly with heavy truck parts.(707)-427-1377. I can get parts at this place that NAPA can't! :skull:

brandon your most likely going to need the national #2300 OR national 5131,they are your only 2 choices. if i was betting i would say you will need the less common 2300. the 8660s is a rear axle seal for a 1563 rear axle bearing :flipoff2:

I got a C-R 13164 in one side, it will work but I destroyed yet another putting it in the other side. I tell ya, I will be careful sliding those shafts in cause those seals are a BITCH!
