I KNOW DO THE SEARCH! I did and came across a lot of info but my question is my junkyard had a 79 celica so I pulled the steering box, reservoir and hoses but the motor was gone and so was the pump but there was a 86 toyota 4by4 p-up missing everything but in the back was the motor with the power steering pump attached and the junkyard guy said it was the same but he also wanted my ten bucks so does anyone know if it's the same or is the big difference the way it mounts to the engine? If I'd seen one on a car i'd know, also is sky manufacturing selling kits to hook these thing up to the samurai one of his posts stated he had brackets to hook up the steering box to the frame?

Thanks all

Yes you can use an 86-88 steering pump should be able to get the frame braket for the gear box from Sky, petroworks, calmini or RRO but yo can easily fab the box to the frame these p/s kits in my o2 are alot of cash for something that can be made in the garage but when there is a demand these guy's set the price so it's pay up or make it.:smokin:

I've already got the celica box so i'll stick with that, I've got 31" tires now and will probably go too 33" so it should be fine. How to get to Lyle? I-5 to Portland take I-84 up the columbia river gorge to Hoodriver (about eighty miles) take the bridge back into washington and drive twenty miles east and you can't miss us unless you blink!

Hey Dan (moto261) when you installed the efi set-up did you use the efi pump? My pump is off a 86 toyota 4x4 p-up and nobody makes a bracket to install it yet. Or has anyone else done it I'm hoping for pictures once I see it I can build it.

Thanks,

Don

It's not that hard to grind a little on the toy braket to make it work
I'll be starting mine this weekend I'll post some pics when I get to that point and let ya no how much to grind and where

That would be great, I'll look at mine this weekend. Are you going to be running one belt or two?

good idea! I just put the gm alternator on and i'm not to sure how much adjustment there is because the top adjuster hits the alternator housing but I could grind some more if I have to.
