none sorry
Creepy196 02-16-2005, 10:36 AM They're thinking that someone will be stupid enough to pay more for this engine than most of us have paid for ALL of our Scouts... Seven bills PLUS three more for a "Rebuilder" 304A??? :shaking:
Mechanos 02-16-2005, 10:42 AM You're right... what a dumbshit. That's a flexplate, not a flywheel. :flipoff2:
robselina 02-16-2005, 10:52 AM I have been lurking around trying to gauge my direction of either building or buying blah blah blah...
Do your research and buy if it's a budget oriented decision. You never get what you've put into a build (even materials alone in most cases, nevermind your labor)which means there's always good deals out there....
Regarding this auction in question - guy's a moron, end of story.
nwmud 02-17-2005, 04:04 PM drugs - its got to be drugs......
FordCarnage 02-17-2005, 04:39 PM drugs - its got to be drugs......
Yeah that's my deal.
Darel 02-17-2005, 07:01 PM Don't forget that's the buy it now price. He did start the auction at ten bucks (which is what I'd pay).

I have a half dozen cores lying around, too.. but when I'm done with them, they're not "runs good, no knocks or smoke" :D :D
"Ran well before I pulled it"
Why did you pull it?
"It has no rod or main bearings left in it"
:D

binderbound 02-19-2005, 06:17 AM Lets bring a llittle tech into this... Is that a prestolite dist? I didnt think those made the scene till later. did some retard dump the holley dist for that or was it a gold box motor in 74?
Lame, I know. Flame away, bla bla bla :flipoff2:
Urban Wheeler 02-19-2005, 08:22 AM :sarcasm: Wow, it's up to $26 bucks already with 5 days left to go. This guy's gonna get rich for sure. :sarcasm:
blownblue 02-19-2005, 12:41 PM the shipping for 300 bucks is only for a 800 mile radius he is taking someone to the cleaners for sure wonder if the buyer wants a mint condition used beer bottle for 27.50. (only been used once)
'71 800B 02-20-2005, 04:41 PM I traded my 304 for a set of 800 rear springs. tossed in a 1974 scout II minus the 345 for free. :flipoff2:

Looks like a Prestolite POINTS distributor to me. It should be the 'correct' disty for '74 (we all know how critical concorse-level attention to detail is with Pirate Folk). They were used in the early 70s before the Gold Box (75-77). Prestolite ELECTRONIC distys came in around 78 IIRC. I believe SVs used Delco points (start until '66ish), Holley points-AKA IHC1510 ('66ish until '72ish), Prestolite points ('72ish thru '74, with some Holley points units mixed in for fun), Holley Gold Box ('75-'77), then Prestolite electronic ('78-'80). The Prestolite electronic was used by IHC thru '84 (corporate breakup) in medium and heavy truck SVs, and is still the 'current' replacement disty that you can buy at your local ITEC/NAVISTAR dealer.
My 69-73 Light Line and Medium Duty service manual (CTS2300, a BIG sucker over a FOOT thick) also has service info regarding a Delco electronic disty. This looks like your basic 'window cap' Delco GM or IH points disty with a different breaker plate, upper shaft, and a funky ignition box. It bears NO resemblence to the 74-8? GM HEI disty. I don't know if it was ever used with SVs.
Hows that for HARD-CORE Buildin' Tech??????? :massey:
