With all the hoopla about the klamath river farmers and the water they use you would think that organizations like the sierra club wouldnt do something like this, but its ok because THEY want it. This is from the sierra chapter in Nevada City.

Presented to the newest environmental organization in our community, Save Our Historic Canals. Rick Sharkey, SOHC’s president, accepted the award on behalf of all the dedicated members of this group. They are working hard to convince NID to keep enough water in the Lower Cascade Canal to support fish and other aquatic life and maintain the aesthetic qualities that make this canal a cherished resource for the Banner Mountain neighborhood and surrounding community.


There must be alot of sierra club members in the Banner Mountain neighborhood.
