Well, this weekend I finally got to use my Powerstroke Excursion to tow my big bronco to Tellico. I have to admit I had plenty of power to spare. As I was pulling into the forest the damn thing cut off. I had to have it towed to the dealership in Murphy(5 hours from me, CHarlotte) and leave it and my bronco there. They said there was a short in the wiring harness and it blew a fuse in the computer. What a pain in the ass. The thing is less than 6 months old and shit like this happens. Now I have to take a day off work and find someone to drive back to Murphy with me to pick up my trucks. Ford was of absolutely no help with getting there or getting my truck back. The best they could do was offer me a "good" rate on a rental. <IMG SRC="smilies/pissed.gif" border="0">

Sounds like a crappy dealership to me. I have always been given a rental car from Ford when there was a problem. Even at one that was out of state from where I bought it.

Well the thing is, the Excursion is at a dealer 5 hours from here. I was hoping my home dealer would get me a loner, but they said they couldn't because they weren't the ones doing the work. I think I could have gotten one fromt the other dealer but it wouldn't have done me any good here in Charlotte

LOL... so the Bronco isn't fit for street duty anymore? What good are those coil-overs now?
Makes you long for the days when you drove your trail rig home at the end of the weekend, doesn't it?

Well that's the whole reason I bought the Excursion, so I don't have to worry about making it home with the trails we run. We left Friday morning and I finished the bronco Thursday night, didn't even have time to break in the gears until Friday in Murphy so yeah as of last weekend you surely didn't want to drive it home on the interstate. What good are the coilovers? You really have to ask:smokin:

I hate it when they live up to their name:mad:
Make sure the dealer shows you where the short was , where the computer is and get a spare replacement fuse.
For that much dough and repair cost they'd better , or go ballisic ln their show room!! :mad3:
Good luck
