My top? I don't have a top on. I have a Kayline bikini I use when I have my windshield on.

I think he is referring to Zags' 4runner, Chris. Is his top removable, or did he just cut it off? ~Steve

Zags is working on his cage, he just needed his wheeling fix for the week. The welder in the pic was one of the portable Century ones that looks like one of those portable booster packs. Worked well for trail repairs even on filthy metal.
Can't wait for the report. Pics don't do that trail justice. Once you're in past a certain waterfall, you're committed to the whole thing. And you should probably be committed after doing the last waterfall!

Yaaaaaaaaa! Those are awesome! I thought about using old revolvers (barrels welded to the shift levers), but cops probably wouldn't find too much humor in it during a traffic stop on a dark night...

The O.D. Green Commando is one of the coolest rigs I have ever wheeled with. Everything was well thought out and just plain bitchen. I am sorry I didn't catch the owners name. It is definately a magazine feature type rig.

Hey fatkid, anyone can roll with a cage, real men dont need no stinkin cage, next youll want to put seat belts in. Actually, it going without the cage in was pretty stupid, and it will definately be in there next trip. I had cut the roof off to put the cage in, but things didn't work out in time. The plans call for a custom canvas top when I am done.

Jack, you are gonna love this trail. We didn't get to the insane stuff. This is the toughest, coolest trail I have ever seen. It makes everything I've done so far look like a mall parking lot. Im hope it can be kept unpaved(unstacked) for awhile.

Lots of work here in Phoenix. I work in inspections and deal with structural engineers, architects ( :rainbow: ), general contractors,...,... Right now there is not a lack of work. I've been here 5 years and it has not slowed down yet!

Get some good pics please when you do the waterfall. I tagged the Suzuki forum post with the same request, I really want to see some good pics showing how to do that kind of a pull. Don't do just close-up "wow" pictures, get some far enough away so we can see the technique and the difficulties you have to overcome. The terrain shots are already pretty good except just how steep in that second rise? 80&deg off horizontal?
Just in case its any extra encouragement, I think that second rise is IMPOSSIBLE. Alright, now do it and show me I'm wrong.

JackA

From the pix I have seen, they just pull straight up the fall. There is an axle shaft or some winch anchor permanently mounted up there. Maybe they put a block of wood under the cable at the crest?

I'd guess the second fall is close to 80 degrees. We'll try and get some good pictures, problem is if I only have one camera, how to get shots from all around? We were talking about using a snatch block for the climbers rig and then once the first person is up, running a second winch cable down from the top for a backup. I have some pics on my site from last November when one of the first groups made it thru. Pictures here.... (http://www.azrockcrawler.com/_images/2001/11-01nextlevel/11-01nextlevel.html)

Wow. Now that's some serious rock crawling. What do you do at the crest when the rig gets up there? Does the cable come up off the ground by itself when you get there, because of the tires, or do you give it some gas to help out or what? Does the anchor need to be a few feet off the ground or will the cable rise anyway even if the anchor is low?

The exact location of this trail is not for me to say. I will leave it up to the guys who broke it to divulge that when they are ready

The anchor point is a rock outcropping about 15 feet above and 20 feet past the top of the fall. The pictures don't do this succa' justice.
