Just got my fullwidth Dana 60 rear/44 front setup for my CJ7.

I have a few quick questions about the axles.
1) What are you all paying to have gears installed? If you are setting up gears yourself, how did you end up learning?
2) I was given two same length shafts from the seller for my rear Dana 60 (out of a 76 Ford). The passanger side seems to go all the way in just like it is supposed to, but the drivers side goes in and then seems to stop completely with about 5/8" between the flange and housing. :( Are the drivers and passenger sides supposed to be different lengths on this axle? If not, what could be holding it back? It does turn while I rotate the yoke around just like it supposed to.
3) It has a locker in it that I cannot identify, were there any lockers that came from the factory for this axle?

I think that those are all the questions that I have for know, but I am sure that I will find something to ask tomorrow when I remove the carriers on them.

Sounds like it is too long & going right through the spider gear & hitting the cross pin. Take a look inside there.

Can't help you out other than the gears. I'd say do them yourself, too bloody expensive gettting a shop to do them. Just get a lot of info and take it slowly, make sure you got all the tools and read up on all the info you got. Get a buddy to help you. Once you do it the first time it gets easier everytime. Make sure you know what your going to see when you open up the diffs and everything. Best thing is to learn to do it yourself, how do you think all the guys that work at gear shops got good at it, they had to learn sometime.
Good luck
