Anyone ever purchased a painless wiring harness for a Bj40 diesel?? Or do they only make them for the fj40??
Are there other wiring harness fabricators online??

Aside from glow plug light and for the fact that you don't need a wire to run the ignition, a "regular" painless harness is all that you need.

I have installed them, I would hardly call them Painless but they are a good product. Best place to buy them is Summit or Jegs. I can send you URL's if you neem them.

Also smart to buy a new wiper switch, dimmer switch, starter switch, etc from Painless as well. Cost about $100 to buy all that and it interfaces better with what they sell - it's easier to get it all working if you use stuff that is made to work together.

I had a problem with a Painless harness and they sent me a free one out ASAP - great customer service.

Doesn't the BJ have a 24V electrical system?
That could be a factor. I don't know enough about elec systems to know if it matters or not.

24 volts does not need to carry the same current (amps) to deliver the same power (watts) so in theory the wires could be smaller for a 24 volt system than needed for 12. Old six volt systems had huge wires - as voltage goes down, amps goes up and so does the need for thicker wire...

Twice the volts = half the amps.

The harness will work just fine.

On my dad's diesel we hooked up a small red light in the circuit for the glow plugs - that way you know if they get power and you know if they stay on longer than needed....not really needed but nice on an aflicted old diesel.

You don't need the harness that they sell for the Cruiser/Bronco/Scout aplication - all you need is the generic harness that they sell and it's a lot cheaper.
