: D18 Transfer Case: Why are both my D-Shafts spinning???

I am trying to figure out how my twin stick D18 transfer case works? I assume the left stick controls 2 WD vs. 4 WD and the right stick controls LOW vs. HIGH range?

If the above is correct then I hope someone can explain why, when both of my sticks are in the DOWN position, my front drive shaft still spins???

It seems to me that the front shaft SHOULD NOT SPIN when both of the sticks are in the down position. Is this not the case? Is the T-Case supposed to be permanently spinning both shafts?

I know this is TOTALLY NEWBIE but I can't seem to figure it out - maybe my Tcase is broken???

If someone could please post a quick reference or explanation of how the twinstick case is supposed to work that would help me out a bunch!

Thanks in advance!

If the picture doesnt say it all. the inside stick needs to go up the outside stick (closest to passenger) needs to go down. at least that is how every D18 ive had is

LOL,

OKAY THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE! It was bungee corded in the ON POSITION(front shaft) when I got it and I had no clue why (I assumed it was to keep it in 2wd) - this makes total sense now(why my front shaft is spinning - not why there was a bungee on it?)! THANKS FOR THE PICTURE!!!
