I wanted to share my experience with you all. I bought what I thought was going to be a great deal - Some one elses project, a shortend 68 Ford F250 4X4. It had a rebuilt 429 and C6, how could I go wrong at only $500. Well, after getting it home and talking with people like yourself, I have replaced the front and rear diff., changed out the steering to a later model for power and went with crossover steering. I am changing the t-case from the stock divorced Dana 24 to a married NP205. I took the rebuilt transmission in to the person who rebuilt it 10 years ago to freshen it up and found that wasps and mice has been using as a home for most of the 10 years. I then thought that if the trans was in this shape, what was in the motor. Found cat food in the oil pan and some kind of mold or spider home in the lifter galley. Lucky for me that was it and no other damage. So was it a good deal - you bet. I have had more fun working and buying parts building this truck than any of the other cars I have. Just wanted to say thanks to all those who have or will give me help and advice. THANKS!! :grinpimp:
