I say, "More power to ya!" Youll never break thoes d60 shafts of u-joints. But, snapping a d44 is all part of the game. Nothing some alloy shafts and HD u-joints wont fix form quite some time..

But, the way i look at it is, Build to Break. I would keep the d44, and upgrade the shafts. Why? Because somwhere along the line you have to have a weakspot on your rig. And i would rather replace a $20 u-joint, then a $350 draveshaft.

Build to break?????

I've never understood that. Why not eliminate the weakspots?? Upgrade the axles and the driveshafts, U-joints, yokes, etc... I'd rather play all day then replace a $20 u-joint.

With the thousands spent on beadlocks, tires, winches, shocks, lockers, drivelines and 'beefing' up u-joints, axles and birfields whats a few more for a set of axles that will give you the same performance and piece of mind all other parts your spending money on are giving you? With all the cure-all's and do-dads coming out to make a whatever 'just as strong' as a 60 why not just get a 60? Sell what you have to someone that doesn't mind trail repairs and spending money on more upgrades and turn that and your upgrade money into a real 60. I did the 'upgrade' 9" and 44 route for a long time. After adding it all up had I just bought the real thing the first time I would have spent not much more money and had a hell of a lot more fun wheeling. I get to pick the line now, not the limitations of the truck. Am I wrong here:confused:

from the looks of it you are doing great and should be extremely pleased it lasted that long. With my 44 the shafts don't last long enough to rust like that. They go in looking brand new and come out that way too!! Except for the fragged ends.:p
