4 total bends in two pieces. I don't know of anybody who has the die for this.

JD2 doesn't have a die that big, I have no idea if the others do.
I do know of a place in South City that has some large radius benders, works like slip rolls.
Kuthbert or something like that. If you want I could drive by and get the name and number for you. It's a mile from my home.

I bet they charge a fortune. I talked to Superior Tube Bending in Hayward, and they want $150. Anything bigger than 1-1/2" in square tubing is out of reach for the JD2 and ProTools benders.
I guess I have to make it out of 1-1/2" square. Anybody got a die for that?

What size radius?
Whats the layout?

Radius does not matter. Anywhere between five and six and a half inches would be fine.
A simple U shape, two 90 degree bends.

why not make them from flat stock
i made 2 rings, and after welding & cleaning up,
cut each ring into 4.The advantage of welding a
ring is that it does't distort out of shape.

Not a bad idea. Your project came out really well. It looks like a lot of work though. I guess I'll do it if I have to, but someone around here will have the die.

Sorry ibrokun no die to fit the bill.....the plate idea will work,...I have also had real good luck with slitting the square tubing in half down its length at the end. Then heat it red, and bend around an mdf form faced with flat bar. Basically what this does is turn a piece of tubing into two pieces of channel. Then cool apropriatly and weld seam back together. You will find that the inside portion has magically gotton longer.....so trim to fit and enjoy adult beverage of your choice for such a great job.
