I bought a front 44 from an old cherokee, well cherokees use a six lug hub, i needed a 5 lug set up.
No problem i figured, I went to the local wrecking yard and pulled some rotors and hubs from a dodge ramcharger, they fit perfect, but when i tried to fit up the brakes the the back pad wont fit between the rotor and the backing plate.
Any ideas or cheap alternatives?

1979 Ford Bronco rotors and hubs.
5x5.5, you will have internal hubs, and stock waggy brakes will work
Cheep - No
Strong - Very

Pull the backing plates off too, no need to run 'em.

get the dodge backing plates and calipers or like the above said get the ford bronco rotors. what year cherokee/waggy front? for some reason i seem to think the dodge's had different spacing on thier rotors than the ford ones.

Then you have the big bearing spindles which then require IIRC using Dodge calipers/ backing plates and dodge Rotors/hubs unless you change to the pre-1977 D44 spindles used by chevy and Jeep on dana 44's which is then compatible with the small bearing Ford Rotors and can be combined with the Jeep/Chevy backing plates and calipers

on a very related note, what year truck can I get 6 lug rotors (is there a difference b/w chevy 6 and others and if so what is it?) and what all will need to be swapped (just the rotors?)? Thanks a lot, Im trying to change 78 EB d44 and 9" to 6 lug and am just not positive on some of this stuff. Didnt mean to hijack, just figured you guys would know better since you were on the topic. Thanks - Jared

Not sure on the chevy 6-lug, but the chevy 8-lug stuff is almost identical to the 6-lug waggy stuff. You'll wanna make sure you have the right spindle but the the chevy and waggy 6-lug stuff may interchange.
It's here somewhere though so SEARCH :flipoff2:
