ok, so I want to build a slip roller, one that could possible do rings as well, although those are cheap enough for up to 5/8ths.
Anyone have an idea as where I could source the rollers? I think I have a handle on everything else.

How long?
I'd look at some 2" 0.120" DOM tubing. If not sturdy enough... fill with SAND and figure out how to squeeze end plugs or something to keep a little more rigid.
Once again depends on size, but if you could find some scraped CHROME plated hydrualic rams, or something else like that, might be a cheep source of rolls. Just thinking along the lines of a metal scrape yard. I have some 1" diameter rods for linear bearings... fine for a small 12" wide roller, but really need something good for 3' of 16 gauge or so (about a 3" diameter roller)
Tom :usa:
EDIT: 3' roller... not a 30' roller

yeah, that's good for a ring roller, and I have a small one of those, and frankly, you can get one for under 200.00, so it's cheaper than making it for me (my time equals production time unfortunately).
I am thinking more about the slip roller.
