: Cruzah Seats (5pt.)
TxCruzr 02-17-2002, 05:29 PM I am needing a (2) racing seat for my cruiser and need some help/input. When we first bought a seat, we got the Corbeau Targa RS. When it arrived it ended up being too tall (the bottom seat cushion), I could not sit in it mainly because of the big steering wheel. I plan on getting a grant, but not untill I get p/s. I am looking at the Corbeau Forza seats. The man at Corbeau said that it is the lowest of their seats but since they can not be returned, I don't want to rush into it again. I already have the Simpson 5pt. harness, just need the seats. What do you guys run and about how much were they? They do need to be some what comfortable since I will be driving to school everyday, and then a hour to get to Twin Buttes for off-roading, then another hour drive home...
Thanks
Joseph A.
Here is a picture of Corbeau's Forza and thier web site...http://corbeau.com/
TNToy 02-17-2002, 06:11 PM You couldn't fab up a new bracket to mount the seat closer to the floor? They aren't excatly the hardest thing in the word to make.
TxCruzr 02-17-2002, 07:22 PM I have a bracket mounted to the cage...its lower than the stock one....I have a box and a gas tank to deal with since it is a earler cruiser...
Thanks
Joseph A.
here is a picture to make it a little clearer....

I hang out the side of my Jeep, so those (the shoulder wings)look like they would get in the way. But if you wear a 5 point all the time it wouldn't matter. They DO look good and seem well made, too.
budone 02-18-2002, 09:57 PM I am runing the baja ss's in my EB on a custom cace mount. They are still a little high but otherwise they are great. They are very comfortable, even after ten hours on the trails or a few hours on the road.
REDDMANIAC 02-18-2002, 10:20 PM Mainly out of an late model Rodeo or Amigo. Honestly, judging by yer mounts, it looks like yer pretty limited on choices. Ive fabbed up some mounts in my ScouttII to accept some Mitsubishi Eclipse Seats so I do know exactly what you mean by the seat being HIGH so I feel for ya bro! See if you can get those seat mounts reworked, bet it would be cheaper. Try Subaru too.
Wanna trade something for that CORBEAU SEAT. Rear D60FF perhaps??

I'm surprised you'd reccomend those seats. i think Isuzu seats suck, and i drive an isuzu. the seats in my moms 98 amigo are nice lookin and decently comfortable, but if i was puttin down real $$$ i'd get something nicer. i'm swappin the seats out of my amigo for some Recaros from a VW GTi or GLi.
Dallas
REDDMANIAC 02-19-2002, 07:53 PM Sure, if yer gonna plunk down real cash for hi dollar seats, go right ahead, but I was referring to salvage not dealer. Besides he needs something that'll fit.
:flipoff2:
TheNerple 02-19-2002, 08:15 PM Why not just cut that bar going across the front of the seats and the rest of the seat mounts and fabbing something lower. If you are looking for a lower profile seat I'd go with prelude seats they are as small as you're gunna find I would think.
SCRAPER 02-19-2002, 09:07 PM I run the Baja SS's too. they were cheap and theyre actually pretty comfotable.
scoutman 02-20-2002, 12:04 AM GTI's don't have Recaros. My best friend has a 96 GTI, those are nice seats, but no recaros. I am going to put in seats froma 240SX. Already have the slots in them for a 5 point. They are a lot more comfortable than GTI seats and are ready to accept a 5 point. As a side note my buddy would not be looking into sparcos or momo seats if those GTI seats were recaros.

Some years of Jetta GTi's (or was it GLi's?) did in fact come with Recaros, starting in around 1988 for a few years. So did some Audis, but I dunno what years or models. I have seen some of each at the Pull 'n Save (http://www.pullnsave.com/) near Denver, and checked the name stamped on the seat frame to make sure! The mounting is a pain in the ass, though, so I got some BMW seats for my Cruiser instead.
FJ4ZROX 02-21-2002, 06:45 AM Do the BMW seats have the metal gears and all the other goodies? I have a '01 Z3 that has nice seats, and have seen other M3 and MZ3's at the local yard. If they have the better "guts", I'd gladly grab a set for my FJ40.
rugburn 02-21-2002, 07:43 AM Toyota mr2 seats are really sweet for all years manufactured!
