i was just given two free 3/8" butterfly air ratchets. one is a chicago pneumatic and the other a florida pneumatic. both work fine accept for one problem. the swivel fitting has two holes: one for the air line fitting and the other for oiling. the oiling hole plugs are missing off both fittings. now i need to figure a way to seal these that would withstand 90 psi and still be accesible for oiling. there is not enough depth for me to tap them and thread on a pipe plug. anyone have any ideas or familiar with the type of plug they use?

Got a pic? Ive got a CP and the only other hole in the swivel has the pressure adjuster in it.

the chicago and florida are not stellar brands. The chicago I have has held up under moderate use for 7 or so years. They are low torque and very fast to use.

hey i just wanted to thank you guys for the suggestions. i did exactly what busjoe suggested. plugged the hole and devised a way of oiling through the inlet using a piece of thin tubing. i took 3/8" grade 5 bolt and cut the threads off at the shoulder. this fit almost perfectly into the hole and was short enough to not restrict the inlet at all. used some 2 ton epoxy to seal it in and both seem good to go. by the way, i don't think there were pressure adjusters on either of these.

Have you used one of these butterfys before?

yeah both of them work fine now. they are pretty low torque but are fine for small applications. i have a big 1/2" ratchet for higher torque applications.

Mine wasn't what I thought I wanted. I hit the trigger a few times when I didnt mean to before I got used to it. I prefer the gun style.

i've got a 1/2" impact gun too. the big advantage to the butterfly ratchets is i don't have to go searching for a 3/8" adapter for the bigger ratchet.
