I've got a bad rattle/vibe in 3rd & 4th gear. Like rocks in the transmission, gets worse when I press the brakes & try to slow down. Is this the synchros going bad? It shifts fine.

Bad synchros will only make noise when you shift, in gear it is a bearing(s) problem.
