Check out these homemade 1/2 doors my buddy Butch Baker made.

He asked me to post these pictures to see if anyone wanted to purchase a set.

Email him direct with any questions:

can you take a picture of the inside. Looks like he welded some bracing in. Not interesting in buying some just looking at how others made them. thanks for the pictures

Those are pretty cool. How much $ ?
I started to do some out of old hard doors and I took the line from a friend of mines 1/2 doors from Specter. I just liked the line of the 1/2 doors cause I could have an armrest after I put a cap on the cut door.
Still haven't finished them and mainly just curious how much yours would be.

I know you said to email Butch direct, Nolan, and I'm about to do that, but I think there'd be a lot of interest in seeing the inside of those doors. If you could snap a pic or two, I'd appreciate it!

I'm not wild about the line of the top of the door, but I think it's a good start...

Personally, I like the style copied from the Jeeps. It is also nice to have the flat section for an arm rest:)

Of course you like that style, Jack! I'd hate to think you made it and hated it. :p

Those 1/2 doors kick ass. They look like a ton of work, though, and more welding than my skills allow! They're more or less the lines I'm going to try for if and when I make some...

I got a chance to check Butch's doors out last weekend.
There is a narrow bar on the inside where, you see the tacks, to stiffen it up and the top is rolled over to make a nice flat spot for your arm.
Really nice bit of work.

I'll be your friend, Live Wire!:) Those are really nice looking doors. Almost exactly what I would make, if I had half way decent fabrication skills. Great work. Jack, yours are nice as well. This board is killing me. Too many good ideas, and not enough money or skills.:(

Darn!!! Cut it 3 times & it's still too short.:flipoff2:
Here is a pic of the half-door on my cruiser. Made from 1977 doors. Took me 3 hours to build them. Much easier than the other one's I did. Someday, I am going to build myself a set like the one's I did for my friend.:)

Medusa....I just started a set of doors similar to yours and wondered what you did for the interior pull ( open) mechanism. Did you lower it or just bag it and reach outside to open?
Got a pic?

I like the full metal look but will use Al to make mine with a 2 inch flat cross member on top for an arm rest and then use 1/2" diamond plate or maybe 5/16's....

I thought i read a while back about someone making the "jeep style" half doors out of some cruiser doors that would allow you to hook the top half of the soft top doors on (someone from the north west)..... anyone remember this?

Your memory is correct. It was Medusa, who has posted a couple messages in this thread. Look on his page for his nice half-doors. I'm inclined to make some more like Live Wire's second picture, but only because it's easier. :D

Andy, Been working for a change. Had a new job for about 2 years and seldom hit the site at work. I have a new gale that loves wheeling and fxxcking so no time to surf at home! Our first date was last years Rubithon and I couldn't get her from behind the wheel of my 40. If she wasn't driving it she was fxxking on it. : ) That reminds me its almost time to go home : )

For those guys that read this don't put up with shit from a crazy wife, follow Dans rule of marriage..."you can't polish a turd, you flush'em".

Harsh words but I am here to live not suffer.
