: S&N Fab coilover TJ update - maiden voyage
well...it was a long time coming, but my daily driver 99 TJ finally rolled out of S&N Fab's shop...straight to the trail!!
this is just before the momentous occasion (and just for scale, I'm 6 foot tall):

a quick run down the street and back to make sure everything works:

and on to Walker Valley to challenge the Express Way (known for plenty of flops):

one thing was very obvious...this set-up was very stable...the camera angle in these next 2 is accurate (check out the trees in the background):

managed to drive out of it without flopping (big thanks to Caine on the low side :grinpimp: )
unfortunately the light gave out, so the rest of the pics turned out real dark...maybe next time we'll get a sunny day for some better pics...oh wait...nevermind, this is Washington State...
I want to give a huge thanks to the S&N Fab crew...they have transformed my TJ in to an incredible off road machine that can still do 70mph on the street without white knuckles :D  :D  :D
xBabyJesus 02-17-2002, 11:14 PM Kick ass. Now, when are you gonna put some real tires on that little thang? :flipoff2:
Paul Gagnon 02-17-2002, 11:15 PM Looking good!
What photo program are you using? You can lighten up your pics by adjusting the gamma, that should help recover most of them.
Po' riggity 02-17-2002, 11:54 PM Nice flares  And no matter what you do to it, its still a TJ...
:D

Just curious when your going to put som "Man" axels in that pile? :flipoff2: I assume once you have done that upgrade you'll put "Real" tires on yours too? :flipoff2: :D
wngrog 02-18-2002, 05:14 AM That is really cool looking!
Can you take some closup shots of how the coilovers are mounted?
Great looking Jeep....don't let these :clown: 's get to you!

That rear axel would be a Tera 60. You may want to take another look next time your head falls away from you rectal area.

What's with the rolleyes, Scott?
Oh, and I've seen yours "flex", I'd go easy on the TJ comments :flipoff2:

ummmm...if you were to remove your head from your ass, you'd notice that he's responding to xBabyJesus' post
FYI - SNORTclown = the 'S' in S&N Fab...he built the damn thing...
Bonestripper 02-18-2002, 08:22 AM Ahh I thought he was just some clown trying to Diss you rig.
I always miss the sarcasem icon.

direct me to some pics of the CJ clip on yer TJ. How'd you work the different cowl into it?
hey cutter, well i have pics but i dont know how to post them up on here.it took me fawkin 2 months to fab the work out i had to bring up the hood to meet up with the cowl and i needed to use the inner fenders from the tj and mate them up to my cj fenders, the grill hooks right up but you need to cut ut some room for the steering box lines it looks like a cj on coils dude.next is the ugly car dash its out and i will fab somekind of cj style one insead...just go on rockcraler under rides punch in tj and my last name is sosner thats the best i can do.
CJ Lagos 02-18-2002, 10:13 AM Very cool indeed, glad to hear it worked as good as you'd hoped. TJ's with coilovers are definately the :nuke:
Looks like you could definately benefit from a rear swaybar...
And your saying that the combination of your new Jeep and  got rid of the white knuckles or just the Jeep mods? :P
Take care,
CJ

The rolleyes? Because I think the flares are gross.. but thats again an opinion. Heck, I don't have much for flares on mine, and I live in CA, where they are known for being really strict for that... and I have yet to get a ticket for it. Oh.. and flex.. its over rated.. Thats what lockers are for... :)

Well I guess it's a good thing this one has ARB's front and rear to go along with all that flex. :flipoff2:
mudmaid 02-18-2002, 12:45 PM :bounce2: WOO HOO brett, i'm glad you finally got your baby back!! when you gonna let me ride in that bad boy? :D
BillaVista 02-18-2002, 12:51 PM I just LOVE the way the coil-over towers poke through the hood...tres cool!
Nice work S&N
:rasta:
Chark 02-18-2002, 01:15 PM Well 664n668:flipoff2: ,Damn newbie with coilovers.... it looks sweet. What size are those "not real" tires? Your testing spot is just about perfect....no dust on those rocks. I just wondered if your running SSR's are they spitting lugs...spinning on those rocks? :smokin: Later.
CrazyCraig 02-18-2002, 02:37 PM Very nice,
How does it handle (on the road) with the rear coilovers angle in so much, do you get much body roll??
Craig
TheNerple 02-18-2002, 06:13 PM Looks good guys! Like how the the spring rates came out for the coilovers? All that practice is paying off big time!

Its either axles, or a new DD :flipoff2:
WTF tires are you running on that "scout" ?
-J
Cliffy [JD] 02-18-2002, 06:52 PM So it's a TJ with a CJ front clip??? Man I can't even tell. Anyone have a comparison pic? post it.
And people say nobody goes extreme with new jeeps. (reference the "New Jeep Rubicon" Thread)
very sweet looking with the coilovers out of the hood.

nope, mine doesn't have any CJ parts on it...Ford parts and Chevy parts and Cadilac parts...but no CJ parts...that was tj7 talking about his rig...
and yeah, the coilovers through the hood does give it a certain look...everyone seems to like it...:D :D :D

mfg4rox 02-19-2002, 03:55 PM I actually like those flares, they are different. Someone should make some rockers like the hansons that could match em. Nice rig man!

I don't mind the flares. They look like they're pretty stiff material though. I'm betting they don't last to long before he cracks them up :D
offroadr35 02-19-2002, 04:15 PM how many ours of labor did they charge you for that? I've been thinking of having someone here do something similar on my Bronco, just wondering about how much $$$ i'm lookin at. I definitely don't think i have the skills to do that good of a job myself.
